This half term we are learning about a range of Celebrations, this topic will cover Halloween, Guy Fawkes, Birthdays and Christmas. The children will look at similarities and differences between. It will also support them in asking questions about the World in which we live in.
Below is our Foundation Stage poppy display for Remembrance Day.
The Foundation Stage
This is a very important year for children, where they will learn many new skills from leaving their parents, making new friends, learning letters sounds, how to count and recognise numbers to being independent at dressing, using their bodies to move in different ways through being active and being creative. All of our learning takes place both indoors and outdoors and is carried out in a very fun and practical way.
Week Commencing 3rd December 2018
This week we will continue practising for the Christmas play. We can’t wait for the grown-ups to see all of the new skills we have learnt.
Our number of the week is 8.
Our shape of the week is a circle.
Our colour of the week is white.
Can you spot the number 8 any where at home?
Can you find any objects that are circles at you house?
How many black items can you find?
Numbers, shapes and colours are everywhere!
There’s always reading too!! Why not read with your child the book they have picked from the school library.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go” Dr Seuss
Have a great week.
