PE
PE at Bungay Primary school provides a high quality curriculum which inspires all children to succeed and excel in physical activities. Through the use of REAL PE from Create Development, the children's lessons are well balanced practising skill, agility, spatial awareness, coordination, tactics and team building attributes. PE lessons encourage celebration of skill, resilience and determination. The pupils enjoy the use of well known games like rock, paper, scissors to add skill and challenge levels to basic PE objectives.
PE lessons cover a great genre of sport from gymnastics & balance to rugby and rounders.
In KS2 children will learn to swim at our local pool in Bungay. They are taught weekly by professional instructors across a term, where they are assessed for their 25 metres.
Our PE is taught by an instructor who is shared across the Waveney hub of Asset schools, as well as school teaching staff.
There is an action planned tournament calendar across the year providing a variety of opportunities for year 1 - 6 to practise and compete. Tournaments range from cricket, cross-country, rounders, athletics, fencing, archery to name just a few.
Every year we host our Sports Days - a chance for the children to all take part as teams and to support each other with their skills and determination. Always a chance for parents to join in too!
Eaton Vale provides our Year 6 residential trip with lots of opportunities for some more extreme sports such as rock climbing, trapeze, rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing, canoeing, wild swimming and go karting.
Many of our clubs offer sports too - archery, fencing, multi-skills and gymnastics. We are always open to ideas too for future clubs.
