PE at Bungay Primary School provides a high quality curriculum which inspires all children to succeed and excel in physical activities. Through the use of REAL PE from Create Development, the children's lessons are well balanced practising skill, agility, spatial awareness, coordination, tactics and team building attributes. PE lessons encourage the celebration of skill, resilience and determination. The pupils enjoy the use of well known games like rock, paper, scissors to add skill and challenge levels to basic PE objectives.
Our PE is taught by a Sports Coach, currently Mr Sanders, who works in the Waveney hub of ASSET schools, attending each school on an allocated day each week.
Our PE lessons cover a great genre of sport from gymnastics to balance to rugby to rounders.
Every year we host our Sports Days which provides a chance for the children to all take part as teams and to support each other with their skills and determination. There is always a chance for Parents/Carers to join in too!
In KS2, the children have an exciting opportunity to learn an important life skill - to swim at our local swimming pool in Bungay. They are taught weekly by professional instructors across a term, where they are assessed for their 25 metres.
Eaton Vale provides our Year 6 cohort an amazing residential trip with lots of opportunities for some more extreme sports such as rock climbing, trapeze, rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing, canoeing, wild swimming and go karting.
You can find information regarding our after school clubs here, which usually offer sporting based choices throughout the year.
