In September 2022, the Trust welcomed a new school meals provider; Aspens. This has proved to be a very successful, productive partnership which ensures that all children receive the highest quality, healthy meals.
Following a tender process, presentation and a number of visits to schools who currently use Aspens as their provider, ASSET were particularly impressed with:
The high quality of food on offer and the commitment to fresh, local food.
The variety of options available.
The value for money with no change to the cost of school meals.
Willingness to work with schools to enhance the curriculum through one off events and curriculum activities.
The commitment to continuous improvement and staff training.
More important than all of this, was the feedback received from the children, both those involved in the presentation day and those at other schools. They were very keen to talk about how much they enjoyed the food and there were lots of clear plates!
School meals currently cost £2.55 per child, per meal.
Children can simply inform their teacher on the morning should they wish to have a school meal any day. A charge will then be produced on Arbor for the meal once the lunchtime session has finished.

As well as the options listed above, we also offer a 'pick and mix' option daily which consists of a filled roll with a choice of a ham, cheese or tuna filling, as well as a range of fresh fruit and vegetables and a pudding.
ASSET Education have spent a year working with our children to discover what they want from school meals at lunchtimes, and we are thrilled to announce that ASSET, our school Trust, is bringing our catering service in-house from September 2025, so that we can deliver the food service and education our children want.
The 'Lunch Hub' is the new name for our school dining room, as we listened to what our children want and brought our school lunch service 'in-house' so that we can deliver healthy, sustainable meals, every day.
School meal prices are rising everywhere, but we have managed to keep the cost of a paid meal down to £2.65, which we believe represents excellent value for this new menu, and our research tells us is lower than many other schools.
Children can still simply inform their teacher on the morning should they wish to have a school meal any day. A charge will then be produced on Arbor (if appropriate) for the meal once the lunchtime session has finished.

Children are more than welcome to bring a home packed lunch with them each day should they prefer. Please be mindful of the contents of this as we encourage a healthy diet where possible.
Please note that we are a nut free school.
