What is Thrive?
At Bungay Primary School, we are committed to providing excellent social and emotional support for all children in our school community and the Thrive Approach plays a pivotal role in this.
Thrive is a therapeutic approach which identifies developmental social and emotional needs. It was created using up to date neuroscience, attachment theory and child development research.
Through an online assessment tool, Thrive Online, a child’s needs are identified and targeted activities and strategies are planned quickly. These provide repeated, preventative and reparation experiences designed specifically to build social and emotional resilience and awareness. This improves children's self esteem, well being and develops their social and emotional communication skills, all necessary for children to be engaged, creative and empathetic learners in school and as members of their wider community, now and in their future.
How can you support your child using the Thrive Approach?
Mrs Harris will contact you to arrange an appointment to discuss your child's needs and what strategies and activities will be planned to best support them. Your participation in the Thrive process is important and will ensure consistency in the approaches between home and school.
If you have any questions or queries regarding Thrive, please speak to our Thrive Practicioner, Mrs Harris, who would be delighted to hear from you.
