Our Governors
Hayley Payne (Chair of Governors)
"I am the Chair of Governors for Bungay Primary School and am incredibly passionate about ensuring we have a team of knowledgeable and supportive governors who can work together to guarantee that all pupils of the school are receiving the very best education and school experience.
I am a firm believer that 'anything is possible' and want to show the children that they can dream, and be, whatever they wish to be.
I have a background in finance and work with the school to ensure the budget is spent appropriately and in the most effective manner. I focus on maths within the school and spend time with the pupils ensuring that the curriculum is not only effective but also engaging too.
I enjoy attending the school regularly and am a familiar face to the pupils and that they feel comfortable with speaking to me about their experiences.
I am readily available to all parents and invite any questions or queries as it is paramount to me that we build a strong, supportive school community. This includes making sure the pupils make regular links with the local area too."
Rebecca Evers (Vice Chair of Governors)
"Most of my working life has been in education, including Primary, Secondary, working with arts organisations, running a creative learning business and now in adult education as an apprenticeship tutor.
In recent years my education focus has been in advanced curriculum, creating and delivering continued professional development for fellow educators and young adult learners.
I hope my experiences in education and as a parent will support my role as governor at Bungay Primary.
I am passionate about creative learning experiences and believe every child deserves a happy, safe and well rounded education."
Sharon Gray
"I have 26 years of successful experience as a headteacher in primary, secondary, and specialist settings. I've dedicated my life to creating enriching learning environments for all children. As the Director of Wholehearted Learning and a Trustee of ‘Engage in Their Future,’ I work to represent young people on a national scale. I have held strategic roles on the Youth Justice Board, championing initiatives for neurodiversity and secure schools. Currently, I collaborate with Kirklees Local Authority on their SEND transformation plan and serve as a school improvement partner. My mission is to empower educators and communities to enhance children’s emotional well-being and creativity, sparking their curiosity and joy for learning. I’m passionate about authentic inclusion and believe that every member of the community plays a vital role in achieving positive outcomes for all learners."
Dawn Stanborough
"After working at Edgar Sewter for a number of years supporting children with their education and all round development I moved on to a local college to teach and assess childcare students. I strongly believe in the holistic approach to working with children. Their health and wellbeing is fundamental to the enjoyment of education and can inspire them to achieve their own personal goals. I like to keep up to date with current research and practice and recently undertook mental health first aid training as I now work at Bungay Primary School."
